Boldended are the best sportsbooks to use for live arb.

While it may seem like a lot of sportsbooks to choose from, some or most of them may not be available in the state you’re located in. Also, many may limit how much you can bet from the get-go or review your bets from the start. Depending on your bankroll, or minimum bet preference, a lot of sportsbooks have limits on how much you can wager on a live bet.

In my three years of promotion betting, arbitrage betting, and live betting, I’ve noticed Bet365, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel, ESPNBet, and BetMGM are the most “live arb friendly.” This is because these books allow you to bet the most amount of money, have the least amount of review before placing a bet, allow for the easiest deposit and withdraws, and are the least prone to limiting your accounts. Bet365, ESPNBet, and MGM are quicker than the other three at limits, so if you were to roll with fewer books, which I recommend, I would suggest sticking with the “Big 3”, or FanDuel, DraftKings, and Caesars.

If you’re in a state with fewer sportsbooks, you’re in luck because, in my opinion, it’s advantageous to choose 2-4 of the best sportsbooks for arbing and stick with them. Having too many books selected in your settings can lead to an inability to recognize patterns and having too many odds shifting at once, causing the user to get overwhelmed.

Map of States with the “The Big 3”:

The Best States to Arb Bet In (Have all 6 “good arb” books - CZR, DK, FD, ESPN, MGM, 365):

  • Arizona

  • Colorado

  • Iowa

  • Kentucky

  • Louisiana

  • Indiana

  • New Jersey

  • North Carolina

  • Ohio

  • Virginia

While having those 6 books is optimal, MGM, ESPN, and 365 are pretty quick to limit once they realize you are getting +EV, or that you are making money on them. I would say being in a state with The “Big 3” (CZR, FD, DK) should be your highest priority.

States That Have The “Big 3” (20 States):

  • Arizona

  • Colorado

  • Illinois

  • Iowa

  • Kansas

  • Kentucky

  • Louisiana

  • Indiana

  • Maryland

  • Massachusetts

  • Michigan

  • New Jersey

  • New York

  • North Carolina

  • Ohio

  • Pennsylvania

  • Tennessee

  • Virginia

  • West Virginia

  • Wyoming

I would advise to try to be in a state with the “Big 3” to properly live arb bet. Having these sportsbooks at your disposal will help make you profitable because of the lack of limits and the higher amount bets that are able to be placed.

As time moves on, more and more states will become “legal’ and include the “Big 3”.

These are the states available as of 6/9/2024.
